Season opening on Zugspitze

November 29th 2024
Top of Germany

Start of winter

On November 29th, Germany's highest ski resort will start off into the winter season. The ski area at plateau Zugspitze attracts visitors for the start of the season with pure natural snow slopes, a unique panorama, and excellent gastronomy.

Update: For the start of the winter season on 29.11.2024, the Sonnenkar and Wetterwandeck chairlifts and runs 2, 3, 7 and 8 will open on Zugspitze.

Zugspitze goes Veggie

With a bold and innovative step into the future of gastronomy, the restaurant Gletscher 2600 is opening the winter season on plateau Zugspitze with an entirely vegetarian menu. The menu at Gletscher 2600 is a creative mix of traditional ski lodge classics and refined alpine cuisine. Those who believe that a vegetarian restaurant on Zugspitze only serves salads and simple dishes will be pleasantly surprised here. The menu is rustic and hearty, as one would expect from alpine cuisine, yet also modern, light, and fresh.

In addition to baked cheese and pumpkin soup, traditional dishes like Leberkas and Currywurst find their place on the menu thanks to the plant-based and sustainable products from THE GREEN MOUNTAIN. At the season opening on November 29, brand ambassador and Michelin-starred chef Patrick Maus will be on Zugspitze. In Gletscher 2600, he will present the plant-based meat alternatives from THE GREEN MOUNTAIN.
