Gaper Day

Winter is leaving. The style remains.

At the Garmisch-Classic area, winter doesn't bid farewell quietly, but with champagne corks popping, faux fur, and plenty of style. Gaper Day, organized by Bayerische Zugspitzbahn in cooperation with GaPa Tourismus, K2 Sports, and Coca Cola, is not just an ordinary end-of-season event, but a statement of quality, atmosphere, and the perfect last day of skiing. So, put on your favorite vintage outfit, polish your sunglasses, and hold on to your champagne glass.

Gaper Day is back!

The motto for 2026 is a loving homage to the golden 70s: faux fur jackets instead of softshell, wooden skis instead of high-tech, and sparkling drinks instead of bland cup drinks. Starting at 11 a.m., DJane Maiba will be spinning beats at Drehmöser 9 on Hausberg, where you can stroll, toast, and party in style.

And because true class also has a sense of humor, a tongue-in-cheek highlight is a must: bull riding. Yes, you read that right. Between champagne glasses and retro beats, the most stylish challenge of the day awaits. Those who manage to stay on the bull not only prove their balance, but also their true Gaper Day potential. Spectating is expressly permitted – and at least as entertaining.

Gaper Glamour Ticket

Admission to Gaper Day itself is free, but a ticket for the Hausbergbahn cable car is required. Access to the upper floor, including the balcony of Drehmöser 9, is only possible with the Gaper Glamour Ticket.

The Hausbergbahn cable car will take you up until 4:30 p.m., with the last descent down the valley at 7 p.m. Day ski passes and season tickets are valid as usual. All other cable cars, lifts, and ticket offices (yes, also at Hausberg) close as usual. The downhill runs are closed for preparation from 5 p.m. – which makes perfect sense, because from then on, the dance floor takes over anyway.

For those who want to experience Gaper Day in an even more exclusive way, the Gaper Glamour Ticket will be available for the first time in 2026. The ticket can only be booked online in advance and costs € 63.50. It includes a return trip on the Hausbergbahn cable car, a welcome glass of champagne (piccolo) and exclusive access to Drehmöser 9 on the first floor, including the balcony. There is no discount for the Glamour Ticket. Glamour knows no shortcuts.
