Due to technical construction works, safety checks and maintenance work, the facilities at Zugspitze, in the Garmisch-Classic area, on Mount Wank as well as the cogwheel train are temporarily out of operation.

ZUGSPITZE

Zugspitze is open on all weekends and public holidays during regular operating hours.

22.04.-26.04.2024
Zugspitze is open and accessible by cogwheel train and Gletscherbahn cable car. Cable car Zugspitze is closed.

02.05.-03.05.2024
Zugspitze is completely closed and not accessible. The cogwheel train operates on the valley route between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau according to the timetable. 

06.05.-08.05.2024
Zugspitze is completely closed and not accessible. The cogwheel train valley route is also closed. A rail replacement service will be set up between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau. The stops Hausberg, Kreuzeck/Alpspitzbahn and Hammersbach  will not be served. 

13.05.-17.05.2024
Zugspitze is completely closed and not accessible. The cogwheel train valley route is also closed. A rail replacement service will be set up between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau. The stops Hausberg and Hammersbach  will not be served. 

03.06.-07.06.2024
Zugspitze is open and accessible with Cable car Zugspitze and Gletscherbahn cable car. The cogwheel train section between lake Eibsee and plateau Zugspitze is closed. Trains will run between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and lake Eibsee according to the timetable.

The Tiroler Zugspitzbahn is also closed for maintenance work from mid-April to mid-May. More information at zugspitze.at 

GARMISCH-CLASSIC

Alpspitz-/Hochalmbahn cable cars
Closed for maintenance work from 02.04.2024 up to and including 17.05.2024.

Kreuzeckbahn cable car
Closed for maintenance work from 02.04.2024 up to and including 08.05.2024.

MOUNT WANK

The Wankbahn cable car is closed for maintenance work up to and including 30.04.2024 and will open for the summer season on 01.05.2024
