How you and your guests get to the Zugspitze

Travel to Germany’s highest peak in comfort by cable car and cogwheel train. The cogwheel train operated by Bayerische Zugspitzbahn begins its journey at the Zugspitzbahnhof in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and ends at the Gletscherbahnhof on the Zugspitz glacier at 2,588 metres above sea level. Passengers can easily get on and off at the intermediate stations of Hausberg, Kreuzeck-/Alpspitzbahn, Hammersbach, Grainau and Eibsee. The base station for the cable car Zugspitze between the station at Eibsee and the idyllic Eibsee lake. From there, the record-breaking cable car Zugspitze transports visitors to the summit in just 10 minutes. The Gletscherbahn cable car runs every 10 minutes between the Zugspitz glacier and the summit.
