Spring 2026
Due to construction work, technical safety inspections and maintenance work, the facilities at Zugspitze, Garmisch-Classic, Mount Wank and the cogwheel train are temporarily out of service in fall and spring.
Zugspitze
13.04. to 22.05.2026
In spring 2026, there will be major restrictions for the Zugspitze cable cars and cogwheel train.
The main reason for this is that the Gletscherbahn cable car (connection between the summit and glacier/Zugspitzplatt) is getting a completely new control system.

The ski season at Garmisch-Classic ends on March 29, 2026.
All cable cars and ski lifts will be closed from March 30, 2026.
The Alpspitzbahn, Hochalmbahn, and Kreuzeckbahn cable car will reopen for summer operation from May 14, 2026.
Mount Wank
07.01. to 02.04.2026
The cable car is closed in winter and will start summer operation on April 3, 2026.
