Anton Huber presented as the future CEO
As of January 1, 2025, Anton Huber will join the Board of Management of the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn.
The 38-year-old native of Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be appointed to the Management Board at the beginning of the year and will manage BZB together with the current CEO Matthias Stauch.
Dual leadership until the end of April 2025
The retiring CEO Matthias Stauch will remain in office until April 30, 2025. His term of office has been extended in order to create a transition phase for both Management Board members. From May 1, 2025, Matthias Stauch will take his well-deserved retirement and Anton Huber will take over as sole CEO.
Taking over a healthy company with all its challenges
Matthias Stauch is looking forward to the new addition and the transition period in which he can pass on his knowledge: “We are a company with a soul, we have a responsibility towards many locals and their families who work for us. That's why it's great that a new CEO isn't moving into an empty office, but is already being introduced to all areas of the company by the entire management team over a period of months. BZB stands for continuity and will continue to do so.”
Anton Huber is looking forward to his role as CEO “back home” after working in the USA for 13 years. Among other things, he was Director of Operations at Doppelmayr, where he was responsible for purchasing, logistics and production for the cable car manufacturer in North America. He is rooted in the Oberland region, has known BZB since his childhood and is delighted to have arrived back home. “My aim is not to reinvent this healthy company, but to set new trends and continue to strengthen it positively. With our strong positioning as a year-round operation, smart investments and infrastructure projects, we are fit for the future and moving with the times.”
