The Zugspitze
In winter as in summer, sports enthusiasts, explorers and families have plenty of opportunities for activities on the Zugspitze. The Cable car Zugspitze, the cogwheel train and the Gletscherbahn cable car provide excellent access to Germany’s highest mountain.

Zugspitze Round Trip
The “Zugspitze Round Trip” is a unique opportunity for visitors of all ages to visit Germany’s highest mountain using the cable cars of Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG. The ride on the Cable car Zugspitze, the cogwheel train and the Gletscherbahn cable car includes breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
The restaurants at the summit and on the Zugspitze plateau offer refreshments. At the Photostop Zugspitze, you can also capture your visit to the summit on camera.

Hobby sports enthusiasts, professional athletes but also families get their money’s worth on the Zugspitze – no matter the season. The various activities you can do on the Zugspitze include:
- Mountaineering: challenging tours to the Zugspitze summit for experienced amateurs and professional mountaineers
- Winter sports: skiing and snowboarding on groomed natural snow in the Zugspitze ski area
- Tobogganing on the Zugspitze plateau: for the whole family – bob sledges and wooden sledges can be rented on site
- Iglu-Dorf Zugspitze: Spend the night in a village made of ice – evening hike in the snow, fondue dinner and spa area included.
- Maria Heimsuchung chapel: From the Zugspitze plateau, a short hike takes you to Germany’s highest church.
- “90 Years of the Cogwheel Train” exhibition: In the building of the summit station, visitors get insights into the fascinating history of the cogwheel train.
