Construction work will be done on the valley section of the cogwheel train from May 6th to 8th and May 13th to 17th.

Tamping work will be carried out along the entire route to stabilize the track. The work will cause level crossings and access roads to be closed. Rail replacement services will be available during the construction period. Signs will be posted on site to inform local residents about how to bypass the closed level crossings at the Alpspitzbahn and Nelkenweg. A bypass is possible at any time.

Closure between May 6th and 8th

The valley section of the cogwheel train between the Zugspitzbahn stations Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau will be closed between May 6th and 8th. There will be a direct rail replacement service between Garmisch and Grainau. For Hammersbach, a temporary stop will be set up at the Zugspitzstraße / Höllentalstraße junction, the bus will run via Obergrainau. The Hausberg and Kreuzeck-/Alpspitzbahn stops cannot be served during this time.

Closure between May 13th and 17th

The valley section of the cogwheel train between the Zugspitzbahn stations Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau will be closed between May 13th and 17th. There will be rail replacement services between Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Kreuzeck/Alpspitzbahn and Grainau. The Hausberg stop will not be served until the construction work is completed. With the start of cable car operations in the Garmisch-Classic area from May 9th, the Kreuzeck-/Alpspitzbahn stop will be served by rail replacement services. In addition, as in the first construction period, a temporary stop for Hammersbach will be set up at the Zugspitzstraße / Höllentalstraße junction.
