The Garmisch-Classic Area
Paves the way to leisure & freedom on the mountain
From classic winter delights such as tobogganing, snowshoeing and walking, to innovative mountain experiences like the AlpspiX viewing platform: The Garmisch-Classic offers an optimal infrastructure for close-up experiences of nature. Locals and visitors truly appreciate the varied winter sports and recreational areas between the Alpspitze, Kreuzeck and Hausberg mountains serviced by the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn.
Garmisch-Classic round trip
This cable car tour enables visitors to enjoy incredible views over one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the northern Alps. The Alpspitz pyramid towers majestically over the Garmisch-Classic ski resort. Non-skiers also use the Alpspitz lift to conveniently access the Osterfelderkopf at 2,050 metres above sea level, where nerve tickling views of the cantilevered AlpspiX can be enjoyed. Idyllic scenes reveal the winter hiking trail from the Hochalm through Längenfelder and down to the top station of the Kreuzeckbahn lifts, from where the downhill valley run begins.
*Please note that the winter hiking trail between Hochalm and Kreuzeck requires sturdy shoes due to its location in the middle of skiing area Garmisch-Classic. It passes along the slopes (two-way traffic!) so pedestrians are asked to walk along the margin of the ski slope.
