According to the government decision: Bayerische Zugspitzbahn will temporarily stop operations from October 31 on


To protect employees and guests, Friday, October 30, 2020 is the last day of operation of the mountain railways. The ski season will be prepared in the upcoming weeks.

After a detailed examination, the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG made the decision to stop operations. The last regular operation of the mountain railways in the Zugspitze and Garmisch-Classic areas is Friday, October 30th, 2020. Matthias Stauch, board member of the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn says: "As a tourism company, the protection of our guests and employees has top priority. The early closure is therefore a conscious decision by our company."

The closing time is used for regular revision works in order to be well prepared for the upcoming winter season.

The Bayerische Zugspitzbahn will continue to be in close contact with the responsible authorities. Current decisions to the ski season will be published on the usual channels as soon as possible.
