Germany’s highest tobogganing fun

Swap your skis for a sled!

Those who journey to the Zugspitze for winter sports don’t necessarily need their skis or boards – there are also wonderful sledding opportunities in the midst of Germany’s highest ski resort.

Thanks to substantial expansions of the previous toboggan runs and a comfortable ascent with two sets of chairlifts, there are no limits to the sledding fun on offer: super-fast descents accompanied by spectacular panoramic views can be had on the Schneefernerkopf sledding slope, Sonnenkar toboggan run down to the White Valley and the Wetterwandeck toboggan run. No gear with you? Well take advantage of the combi-offer at the Zugspitze ski hire in the basement of the Sonnalpin Glacier Restaurant. A bob and helmet can be hired here for only Euro 13 per day.

Caution: for safety reasons, all kinds of inflatable tubes are forbidden from being used in the toboggan area! Only “Zipfelbob” sleds equipped with a safety strap may be transported by the drag lifts. Transport with sleds and “Zipfelbobs” is possible with both chairlifts. It is recommended that small children and beginners use the small hill next to the “Rodelhütte” hut.
