Zugspitze Igloo Village

Inuit feeling on the Zugspitze Glacier

Those wanting to find out what it is like to live in a real igloo need not travel to the Arctic. The Inuit lifestyle can also be experienced at the Igloo Village on the Zugspitze.

The small settlement in the middle of the ski resort consists of around 20 snow houses, a bar, kitchen and two whirlpools. Spending a night up here will certainly leave a lasting impression – without any frosty side-effects. Because warm, expedition sleeping bags and cosy sheepskins ensure the inside temperature of between zero and four degrees is easily bearable. And if necessary, you can warm up in one of the steaming hot tubs nestled in the midst of snowy landscapes!

Further highpoints include a romantic night walk under a star-studded sky and the gourmet cheese fondue for dinner. At sunrise, breakfast is served at the Sonnalpin glacier restaurant after which you can savour the unparalleled experience of having the slopes more or less to yourself.
