Paragliding in the Garmisch-Classic Region
Happiness in the ascendant
Paragliders literally rise above it all in the Garmisch-Classic region. Serene tranquillity, clear mountain air and a fascinating bird’s eye view accompany them on one of the most beautiful flight routes in Germany.
Launching areas on the Osterfelderkopf or Kreuzeck mountains can be accessed quickly and comfortably with the Alpspitze and Kreuzeck cable cars. Thermal up-winds on warm days in the spring and summer let you climb another 600 meters (2000 feet) from here. More ambitious paragliders can even take off directly from the top of Alpspitze. Sure-footed alpinists can reach the summit via the "Alpspitz-Ferrata" climb.
Tip: Once you have landed at the official landing area near the valley terminal of the Kreuzeckbahn lifts, the Kandahar 2 invites you to stop for refreshments and snacks while you watch your paraglider colleagues coming in to land!
